Teacher Criteria
Be a current K-12 teacher at a school
located in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, or Shiawassee County
The Prize
One selected teacher will receive three items valued up to $1,200
(i.e., chair, whiteboard, etc).
How It Works
Teachers pour so much into their classrooms. This back-to-school season, DBI Office Outlet wants to give a little back, but we need your help. We need YOU to nominate one teacher who goes above and beyond and could use a workspace refresh to support their important work.
Nominate a Teacher: Anyone 18 or older can nominate a deserving K-12 teacher.
- Parents or guardians
- Students, with parent/guardian help if under 18
- Fellow teachers or school staff
- Community members
- Friends or family members
Complete the nomination form: tell us about the teacher and why they should win!
The nominated teacher must:
- Be employed at a K-12 public, private, or charter school for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year
- Be a teacher at a school located in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, or Shiawassee County
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be able to confirm employment before the prize is awarded
- Be willing to coordinate with The Office Outlet to select eligible prize items
- Have permission from the employed school, if required, to accept classroom furniture or furnishings
*DBI employees, immediate family members of DBI employees, and household members of DBI employees are not be eligible to win.
A DBI review committee will review all nominations and select the winner.
Nominations open Monday, August 17th at 12 pm EST and will close on Friday, September 04th at 12 pm EST.
The winner will be contacted the week of September 7th, 2026.
Considerations for the winner will be based on, but not limited to:
- Impact on classroom or teacher workspace
How would the refresh package help improve the teacher’s daily work environment? - Nomination story
Does the nomination share a thoughtful, specific reason this teacher should be selected? - Community connection
Does the nomination reflect the teacher’s positive role within their school community?
One teacher will be selected with a mini classroom refresh to start the 2026-2027 school year strong!
One selected teacher will receive a Mini Classroom Refresh (valued at up to $1,200) from The Office Outlet. The winner may choose three items, with no more than one item from the same category. Eligible item categories:
- Desk/side chair
- Tabletop/floor lamp
- Whiteboard + accessories
- Bookcase
- Lateral file cabinet
Prize items are subject to the availability of DBI Office Outlet inventory at the time of selection. Exact brand, color, finish, size, and condition may vary. No cash alternative, substitution, transfer, or resale value will be offered, except that DBI may substitute an item of equal or greater value if needed based on inventory.
Contest Rules & Regulations
- No purchase or payment is necessary to nominate or win.
- The Mini Classroom Refresh Package is intended for use in the selected teacher’s classroom or school workspace. Prize acceptance may be subject to school or district approval. DBI may require written approval from the teacher’s principal, school administrator, or district before prize items are awarded or delivered.
- The selected teacher is responsible for confirming that they are permitted to accept the prize under their school or district’s policies.
- Limit one nomination per person. Multiple people may nominate the same teacher, but duplicate nominations from the same person may be removed.
- Nominations must be submitted through the official DBI nomination form by the published nomination close date. Entries submitted via email, social media, or other forms of communication will not count.
- Incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, or unverifiable nominations may be disqualified.
- Nominations may not include student names, private student information, medical information, or sensitive personal details.
- The winning teacher must respond within five business days of being contacted. If the selected teacher does not respond, cannot verify eligibility, or cannot accept the prize, DBI may select an alternate winner.
- Prize items are subject to The Office Outlet inventory and availability.
- Prize has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- DBI may photograph or video the selected teacher, selected items, or refreshed space for promotional purposes only with written permission from the teacher and, if applicable, the school.
- Delivery included within service area. DBI will provide standard delivery to the winning teacher’s school within Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, or Shiawassee County. Delivery must be scheduled during normal business hours and is limited to standard delivery access. Winner also has the opportunity to coordinate self-pickup of prize items from DBI Office Outlet at 516 N. Larch Street, Lansing, MI.
- Additional installation, assembly, removal of existing furniture, wall mounting, electrical work, or building modifications are not included.
- This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with any third-party organizations or social media platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or Meta.
- DBI reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the campaign if circumstances arise that affect the fairness or administration of the campaign.
